WHEREAS, bills have been introduced in the present Congress by representatives from many states in both the Senate (Long, Douglass, Neuberger, Randolph) and in the House of Representatives (Dingell, Conte, Saylor, Griffiths) in order to conserve our carnivorous mammals, now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the American Society of Mammalogists at its 1965 annual meeting on 23 June recommends public hearings on these bills at the earliest opportunity in order to establish a sensible, up-to-date system of conserving and managing our native mammal resources, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be sent to chairmen of appropriate committees and to each of the above-listed members of Congress, and also to the Secretaries of Agriculture and the Interior.
