Meetings:The 2010 meeting of the American Society of Mammalogists will be held at the University of Wyoming, Laramie, Wyoming from 11-15 June. Our invitation and information site is here. The International Symposium on Neglected Influenza Viruses - 3-5 February 2010, Amelia Island , Florida , USA. The International Symposium on Neglected Influenza Viruses will explore experimental and observational research data on swine, equine, canine, and marine mammal influenza viruses as well as review the economic impact of these neglected viruses. See here for details or contact Steve Windels, Conference Co-Chair, at 218-283-6692 or steve_windels@nps.gov. 2nd International Berlin Bat Meeting: Bat Biology and Infectious Diseases - will be held 19–21 February 2010 in Berlin, Germany, with a focus on exchange of ideas among international specialists working on emerging infectious diseases in bats and bat biology. We are especially interested in crossing disciplinary boundaries and hope that the discussion among scientists from biology and veterinary and human medicine will advance the field substantially. Plenary talks and workshops will include “Emerging Infectious diseases in Bats,” “Bats and Rabies,” “Bats and Parasites,” “Bat Immunology and Immunogenetics,” “Bat Diseases and Conservation,” and “Bat Diseases and the Public.” For more information e-mail here or check here, click on “English” and click on “2nd Berlin Bat Meeting.” The Southeastern Bat Diversity Network will host a Symposium on Conservation and Management of Big-eared Bats (Corynorhinus) in the Eastern United States in Athens, Georgia on March 9-11, 2010. The program will include two and a half days of invited and solicited presentations (oral and poster) covering the three taxa of big-eared bats (Ozark Big-eared Bat, Virginia Big-eared Bat, and Rafinesque's Big-eared Bat). We seek oral and poster presentations on the biology, ecology, conservation, and management of eastern big-eared bats. Oral presenters may submit a manuscript for possible publication in the symposium proceedings. The 2009 meeting of the American Society of Mammalogists was held at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Fairbanks, Alaska from June 24th-28th. Our invitation and information site is here. We had a number of excellent speakers lined up, the weather in Fairbanks in June was beautiful, and we provided an outstanding educational experience and a good time.
