Persons actively interested in mammalogy may become members of the American Society of Mammalogists upon payment of dues. Applications for membership may be downloaded here or visit http://asm.allenmm.com to join online.
The Journal of Mammalogy (in print and online), Mammalian Species (online only), and access to JSTOR archives of both publications are available to members of the ASM depending on membership status. Membership is available in 8 categories: regular ($45/year), student ($35/year), regular or student online ($30/year), developing country online ($20/year), regular and student life, and patron.
Regular and student life members pay a designated amount in 1 year (currently $1,125) or in installments over 4 (regular) or 8 (student) years. These members are then exempt from annual dues and receive the Journal of Mammalogy and Mammalian Species for the remainder of their life.
Patron members support the Society with a single payment of $5,000 and then receive the Journal of Mammalogy, Mammalian Species, and Special Publication series for the remainder of their life.
