For organizational purposes, the ASM has divided North America (Canada, Mexico, and the U.S.A.) into the following 5 regions. The Annual Meeting rotates between these five regions. The Program Committee encourages inquiries from members who wish to issue an invitation for a future meeting. The Guide to Organizing the Annual Meeting of the ASM, which describes the facilities and activities required to organize the meeting, can be (viewed/downloaded?) here.
1999: Western region; 2000: Northeastern region; 2001: Northcentral region; 2002: Southwestern region; 2003: Southeastern region.
Northeastern Region: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Brunswick, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Quebec, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
Southeastern Region: Alabama, Arkansas, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia.
Northcentral Region: Alberta, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Manitoba, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Ontario, Saskatchewan, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Wyoming.
Southwestern Region: Arizona, Colorado, Mexico, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah
Western Region: Alaska, British Columbia, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington.
